Students working on iPadsBeacon Tree Elementary students are continuing to learn how to safely travel their digital world.

The students took part in Digital Citizenship week with lessons on how to make safe, smart and ethical decisions on line.

During the week, sixth graders learned about digital footprints by seeing how online interactions by fictional characters impacted their ability to get a job later in life.

First graders learned how to be safe online and they use a "website traffic light" to figure out what websites are right for them.

Throughout the week, Beacon Tree presented videos on its morning broadcast that taught students lessons about Digital Citizenship.

Digital Citizenship is a year-long program taught by UCS Media Center Teachers, using a comprehensive curriculum from Common Sense Media.
